Now for some photos!

I finished this mini-sweater (of my own design) last night. I think it's pretty cute! It's a raglan.

I also yesterday I finished a sock! I think it turned out pretty well. I used 1.5 needles since my tension has loosened over the past year of knitting.

Also some photos of the city...

I'm in San Francisco this weekend. I went the Fiber Arts Gallery today. They had some nice stuff, especially in the clearance room. BUT I was strong and did not buy myself yarn, I know how big my stash is at home. It's more cubic feet than my body.

Tonight I am off with my co-worker "Bill" to his cousin's friends party for Halloween. I hope it's not lame. I'm afraid I may be bored and sleepy and want to leave. I'll just order an early taxi if so.

Today I also went to the SFMOMA. It was great. I also realize it's my 3rd time there. Oh well- it's good to get a refresher. I was too cheap to pay $5 more to see the special exhibits. The gift store was the best part though! I picked up a cool radio for my bathroom and a neat timer for my kitchen.

I looked up recipes online today for Thanksgiving and am excited to make this stuffing.

Mainly though, I am excited to get HOME! AND for my friend Silvia to visit from Milano. I'll be playing tourist in my own town for 9 days. I love Seattle.

Lots of photos to share!!

I hope I got away using these colors! It's like I have a swimming pool. The paint turns the light a little green. But I don't care.

Here is a overview...

And for knitting!
These are fuzzt feet in double strand Cascade before felting. I hope it works out.

And in Lamb's Pride..

Finally I can show off my finished DNA scarf.

Well I'm all moved in thanks to some wonderful helpers on Saturday. I felt like I was on a reality show where we were in a "survivor challenge," it was tough work. Later that night, Amy came over and helped rearrange my living space completely. Then it was like I was on HGTV! My big obstacle left is to find kitchen storage - which will be in my coat closet I believe.

Other exciting news is Leslie is coming over this weekend from Spokane to help me finish up my bathroom. The exciting 3 horizontal stripes of paint are yet to come!

Knitting news: I finished a pair of "Fuzzy Feet" today. I used a double strand of Cascade 220 and we'll see how they felt up since that's not what the pattern calls for...

More photos:

A snazzy red wall:

My supreme painting technique (that didn't last long):

And.... BLACK cupboard doors:

Well, tomorrow is moving day and I hope Stella (miss kitty cat) is not overly traumatized. I will have to take a bit of time to hang out with her on Sunday night, just petting her. Maybe then she'll forget that anything happened.

AND... if you ever want to buy Rodda Paint, go to their website and they'll email you a 15% off discount.

Some more painting has been done - a lot more than some, really. On Tuesday night I painted for 7.5 hours!!!!!! WITH the help of fabulous Susan from the Eastside Stitchers. We got the entire living room painte white (first coat). She wins the award for most philanthropic knitter (in my book).

Last night I broke open the black paint and did the cabinet door faces. They look pretty snazzy. I think they will be OK. I wish the kitchen lighting wasn't so, well... florescent.
I also did the final coat of red.
In between... that I went for drinks with "Scottish_Smile" and that was fun. ;)

Tonight former rommy Gwen will be helping me and that will make me oh so happy. I think I maybe having pizza every night this week!

See Jen bowing to the paint Gods! Please make it easier!

Check out my gallery of work in progress

The "Lipstick Red" paint looks scary, but on the dark base, actually looks nice - and very Japanese.
Yipee! D-made.com is back up! Now I can post photos again. Stay tuned for my painting excitement!

(This maybe just a painting blog this week)

Tonight I did another coat of red paint. Getting better looking. Phew!
Painted the kitchen whiter - still needs more white.
Painted the bedroom closet doors.
Took off the bathroom wall mirror - cracking it in half in the process. It wasn't of good quality anyhoo...

I am really excited my fellow eastside knitter Susan can help me tomorrow - pre kudos to her! Angela (yet another knitter) stopped by to peak at my progress tonight.

I have been so busy this weekend. WOW!

First of all, thank you to super people whove helped out so far!

Grandpa! (I have a spiffy updated bathroom and a cat door!)
Jen! (My bedroom walls wouldn't be blue without you!)
Charles! (I have a new respect for an extra coat of white as an ode to the BC Ferry system) - sorry about your MIT shirt - the wall didn't mean to paint you...

I will post photos soon - I THINK my site will be back up tomorrow...

No knitting until I get to the airport in one week. I'll be a painting pro by the end of this week.

Tonight I find out what it's like to paint with black in the kitchen. My cabinets will be white and my doors....BLACK! (Last minute decision due to scary properties of "Lipstick Red" paint)

Quote for the day:
"If the human brain were so simple that we could understand it, we would be so simple that we couldn't." - Emerson Pugh

Sorry no photos yet!

I sign at escrow today for my new condo! Only 1.5 days until I get keys!

Thanks to Jen who last night helped me pick all my paint colors:

Living Room: ________ White
Dining area: Red accent wall
Kitchen: White, red accent on cabinet doors
Bedroom: Light Blue with Medium blue accent wall
Bathroom: Three stripes horizontal of an aqua blue green in a gradiation from light on top to dark on bottom
Trim: Paint all white and doors

I will edit this with the names of colors - not like that will help!

Intarsia video from Knitty Gritty

I think this may help some people who want to see how you hold the color changes while doing intarsia.

:)
