We have nearly finished our bedroom, just the closet left to do and eventually crown molding I hope. Here is the color scheme for the room. The darker blue is ths accent wall, the floor is Bruce Hardwood, Oak. We'll have light birchwood furniture eventually. The paint chips are from Rodda Paint, my favorite affordable paint brand.

Tonight we'll be on a cleaning frezy to prepare for Jesper's parents, who arrive tomorrow. It will be so great to have a clean house! An extra bonus to having parties and guests on the calendar.

We've been plugging away at finishing our bedroom in the house, lots of painting and wood floor nailing. We'll be able to install the floor boards and window trim tomorrow night. And maybe even move our bed up from the basement? Exciting!

We've taken the last weekends off and have sailed. See our sailing blog for more details.

It's been 2 weeks since I started knitting that cabled yoke sweater. I am working on it quite a bit and have about 8 inches now. I think it's going to be my best sweater yet, but it's going to take quite a while. I' am happy to have a simple project going now, maybe afterwards, I'll pick up some UFOs.

Jesper's parents are arriving Saturday and we are looking forward to having house guests. Too bad the sunflowers in the garden have all died, but we are in prime zuchinni season now. I also picked my first tomato, but haven't eaten it yet. Maybe I can make a salad for lunch tomorrow.

OK, so I've been back for over a week now from vacation, but am finally getting some time to myself to catch up. I knitted tonight, it's been weeks! If you want to see photos form our vacation, check out the Impulsive sailing blog.
We started on our bedroom project right when we got home, so house projects have been higher priority. We've now scraped wall paper and repaced drywall. Jesper sanded Beadex tonight while I was out knitting. Soon we'll texture the walls (new skill to learn) and then prime, then paint. Then FINALLY we can lay the remaining wood floor. Then moldings, and move in. Phew! That will all happen just in time for Jesper's parents to arrive. At the moment we only have one "bedroom" in a 5 bedroom house, so this project is pretty motivating.

I checked out JoAnns summer clearance and got window planters at 70% off. I filled them with winter Pansies and am very happy with the results. I think I'd like to get a tall planter next to the front door, maybe with a little slow growing tree in it.
When I got home from knitting tonight, I cast on a gauge swatch for the Tangled Yoke Cardigan from the newest Interweave knits. I finally found a sweater project for the yarn I bought in Australia two years ago.
